Requirement : Enterprise Systems : Sharepoint Architect for Government Department

Analysis

Our client is a trusted consulting vendor to the government departments for the last 15 years. Their requirements were critical. This yielded an obvious monetary impact and threatened quality and continuity of services. The requirements were:

  • A ‘Sharepoint architect’ for an initial contract of period of ONE month

  • Fill the position within 10 days

  • Candidate have to be Melbourne based

  • Should have at least 5 years of architect experience

  • Great communication and report writing skills

Approach

We reached out to the market and more importantly our network. We interviewed 11 candidates and ultimately were able to send 2 best fit recommended candidates. One with more than 10 years experience and the other candidate with 4.5 years experience but with a can do attitude, self motivated and an energetic person. We recommended the young candidate due to his attitude and self motivation and because it was more within their cost point. We asked for reports they prepared previously (obviously deleting confidential parts) checked report writing ability – from structuring the report to descriptive writing. We checked referees.

Arrangement

That one month requirement was not enough to prove anything but our client’s value and trust was on stake for the Government account. The situation became so critical the that our client was feeling concerned that they could loose the Government contract. They interviewed both our recommended candidates and selected the younger candidate because of his attitude and drive. We had few sessions with the candidate to explain the context of the position and awaken his right mental attitude to hit the ground running. The candidate started and proved his worth. We kept regular touch with our client and the candidate and as a backup plan prepared another candidate if things go south.

Accomplishment

Because of the candidate’s attitude and zeal our client extended our candidate’s contract for another 3 months. As a bonus we provided a one on one mental resilience development training session with the candidate. As a result, our client got great confidence in us as a recruiter and we gave them full flexibility in payments with couple of dollars savings. So, in a holistic way we improved the quality of work, the quality of life for our candidate, with the trust and confidence on both ends.

Requirement : Infrastructure and Service Delivery : Citrix Server Engineer for a University

Analysis

Our client is a trusted consulting vendor to a renowned University for decades. The criticality was apart from Citrix Server experience. Candidate had to have Cloud platform / Cloud-stack experiences as well. For an initial contract for 3 months, client needed someone ASAP. They wanted a local Melbourne based candidate because face to face interview was necessary. The candidate had to have at least 5 years of architect experience with a great communication skill. An issue that was impacting university’s daily activities and overall threatens quality and continuity of services.

Approach

We reached out to market and more importantly our network. With this skillset we found 5 good candidates. We interviewed all of them and ultimately sent three resumes. It was very difficult to one of them, because all of them had more than 6 years experience, great communication skill and could start immediately.

Arrangement

We started analysing on who is ticking most the boxes. We asked for reports they prepared previously (obviously deleting confidential parts), reference letter, any document that will give them edge over others. From this exercise we brought them down to 3 and sent shortlisted resumes and recommended 1st-2nd-3rd based on our assessments. 1st candidate not only showed reference letter, he proved he has worked in that same department under same team for 2 years with a reference letter written by one of the directors. 2nd candidate worked there for 3 years but couldn’t provide any written letter. 3rd candidate never worked in that department but had great experience. Ultimately client selected the 1st recommendation. He was very happy to go back to the same environment. we were able to save some dollars with negotiation. His additional skills on Xenserver and Linux networking also was added bonus.

Accomplishment

The candidate started successfully in a comfortable environment and hit the ground running as he knew the environment and people. We were in a regular touch with our client and candidate. Because of the candidate’s skill, experience, and satisfaction for his known place, our client extended the candidate’s contract for another 3 months. As a bonus we sent him for a Citrix professionals networking session. Our client got great confidence in us as a recruiter for his skillset and financial value add. So in way we satisfied the need in an optimum way in the agreed timeframe. We built the trust and confidence on both ends.

Requirement : Infrastructure and Service Delivery : Network / Product Support for a Software House

Analysis

Our client is a trusted vendor in the pharmaceutical industry, having been in business for the last 15 years. All major pharmacies are their clients. They needed a Network / Product Support as a permanent opportunity. They initially tried in house and wasted time and effort with no luck for various reason.

Approach

They needed someone with at least 2 years of experience with great communication skills. The candidate will be the first level support for a particular product. We reached out to the market and more importantly our network. We interviewed around 10 candidates and ultimately sent 3 recommended candidates. One with an education in IT with no prior experience, one with one year experience and another one with more than 5 years experience. After our interview we really wanted to give this opportunity to the first candidate. Based on education the first candidate scored great results backing with education from a renowned university. Our panel of expert checked his knowledge which matched the job position requirements perfectly. We checked his English writing ability as well apart from technical knowledge.

Arrangement

Our Client interviewed 2 of those candidates and selected the first candidate. Though the first candidate didn’t have any prior work experience he was happy to get into an IT role to make use of his education. The selected candidate’s zeal and aspiration brought a different attitude to the table. We also negotiated a 6 months rate review for our candidate based on his performance. Candidate’s referees confirmed about his integrity and dedication.

Accomplishment

The candidate started successfully. We were in a regular touch with our client and candidate. This young candidate was a migrant from Sri Lanka and had migrated to Australia 4 years ago and to make him comfortable we spent some time with him and discussed multiculturalism and the psychological context in the Australian workforce. As a result, our client got great confidence in our credibility. He showed improvement everyday and proved eagerness to learn more and stick to the company. So in a holistic way we minimise the risk for the client, the information level for the candidate and his aspiration. We then analysed clients resourcing need and they signed our PRS product which is a monthly scheme payment and Infonity would act as their sole HR recruitment agent.
